Responsible Gaming

This page sets out the practical thinking worth applying before following any operator link on this site, and it states plainly what this build can and cannot do about gambling controls. It does not describe any operator's terms, and it does not stand in for the account-level tools that live at the destination.

Decide the amount and the limit before you start

Working out a fixed amount ahead of time, and treating it as already spent, removes the pressure of deciding in the moment when judgment is weaker. The practical reason is simple: a decision made calmly, before any result is known, tends to hold; a decision made mid-session, after a win or a loss, tends to bend toward whatever just happened.

Never chase a loss

Chasing means raising a bet or continuing play specifically to recover money already lost. The practical problem is that it replaces a plan with a reaction, and the size of the bet starts tracking the size of the loss rather than what was originally affordable. Stopping at the pre-agreed amount, win or lose, keeps the original decision in charge.

Keep borrowed money out of it entirely

Money that is owed elsewhere, or needed for fixed costs, carries consequences beyond the session itself if it is lost. Using only money that was already set aside for discretionary spending keeps a loss contained to what was planned for, rather than spreading into rent, bills or debt repayment.

Take breaks and involve someone else early

A short break away from a session gives time to check whether play is still entertainment or has become an attempt to change a mood or a result. Talking to someone else about it, before it becomes a larger problem, brings in a perspective that isn't affected by the session in progress. Both are easier when done early rather than after a pattern has set in.

Know what this site cannot switch on or check

Controls such as deposit caps, loss caps, reality checks, cooling-off periods or self-exclusion belong to an operator account. This build has no account, no form and no server-side application, so nothing published on this site can switch one of those controls on, check its status or enforce it. Anyone wanting to use those controls needs to set them up directly inside an account at the destination operator, where they actually apply. In the same way, nobody's age is verified on this site and no gambling takes place on it; any age check happens only at the destination. The eighteen-and-over restriction is repeated throughout this build, including on the front page and at the end of every operator listing, but repeating it here is a statement of that restriction, not a check of it. No advertising or behavioural profiling network is present in these pages, so nothing on this site is targeted at a reader who has shown risky behaviour.

Find the independent help organisations linked on every page

Every page of this site, including this one, carries links to three independent gambling-help organisations: gambleaware.nsw.gov.au, gamblinghelponline.org.au, and responsiblegambling.vic.gov.au. These are the only outbound links on the site that are not commercial: unlike the operator links, they carry no sponsored marking, they are set to nofollow, and they open in a separate tab on the organisations' own websites. This site receives nothing when a reader follows them.

Check the destination before claiming anything

Each of the ten operator listings on this site ends with the same line: check availability and the current terms at the destination before claiming anything, because eligibility rules and terms apply there and can change without notice. Everything a reader can actually do with money happens after leaving this site: each operator link redirects to a third party, and from that moment the destination's own rules, checks and account controls apply, not anything published here.
